Welcome to the Bibliography of Metaphor and Metonymy

Editors: Antonio Barcelona & Francisco J. Ruiz de Mendoza Ibáñez

The Bibliography of Metaphor & Metonymy is a major source of information for anyone interested in metaphor, metonymy, and other figurative language. It covers monographs, edited volumes, articles from volumes and journals, dissertations, proceedings, working papers, unpublished works and conference papers. Although the majority of publications cover the period since 1990, the bibliography also includes around 600 entries from before this date.

MetBib surveys publications in the humanities and social sciences ‒ including linguistics, literary studies, philosophy, psychology, education, and sociology ‒ but, to a lesser extent, it also covers publications in the areas of science and medicine.
