Volume I is concerned with segmental structure, and focuses on nasality, voicing and other laryngeal features, as well as segmental timing. With respect to nasality, questions such as the phonetic underpinning of a distinctive feature [nasal] and the treatment of nasal harmony are treated. As for voicing, the behaviour of voicing assimilation in Dutch is covered while its application in German is examined with an eye to its implications for the stratification of the German lexicon. In the final section of volume I, the structure of diphthongs is examined, as well as the treatment of lenition and the relation between phonetic and phonological specification in sign language. 04 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475/cilt.233.png 04 03 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_jpg/9789027247445.jpg 04 03 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_tif/9789027247445.tif 06 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_front/cilt.233.hb.png 07 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/125/cilt.233.png 25 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_back/cilt.233.hb.png 27 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/3d_web/cilt.233.hb.png 10 01 JB code cilt.233.01pre vii 1 Miscellaneous 1 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Preface</TitleText> 10 01 JB code cilt.233.02heu ix x 2 Article 2 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Nasality, voice and more</TitleText> 1 A01 Vincent J. van Heuven Heuven, Vincent J. van Vincent J. van Heuven 2 A01 Harry van der Hulst Hulst, Harry van der Harry van der Hulst 3 A01 Jeroen van de Weijer Weijer, Jeroen van de Jeroen van de Weijer 10 01 JB code cilt.233.03nas 1 1 Section header 3 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Nasality</TitleText> 10 01 JB code cilt.233.04boe 3 35 33 Article 4 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Nasal harmony in functional phonology</TitleText> 1 A01 Paul Boersma Boersma, Paul Paul Boersma 10 01 JB code cilt.233.05wal 37 72 36 Article 5 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Reinterpreting transparency in nasal harmony</TitleText> 1 A01 Rachel Walker Walker, Rachel Rachel Walker 10 01 JB code cilt.233.06plo 73 116 44 Article 6 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Can &#8216;phonological&#8217; nasality be derived from phonetic nasality?</TitleText> 1 A01 Stefan Ploch Ploch, Stefan Stefan Ploch 10 01 JB code cilt.233.07voi 117 1 Section header 7 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Voice</TitleText> 10 01 JB code cilt.233.08ern 119 144 26 Article 8 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">The role of phonology and phonetics in Dutch voice assimilation</TitleText> <TitlePrefix>The </TitlePrefix> <TitleWithoutPrefix textformat="02">role of phonology and phonetics in Dutch voice assimilation</TitleWithoutPrefix> 1 A01 Mirjam Ernestus Ernestus, Mirjam Mirjam Ernestus 10 01 JB code cilt.233.09fer 145 169 25 Article 9 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Final Devoicing and the stratification of the lexicon in German</TitleText> 1 A01 Caroline Féry Féry, Caroline Caroline Féry 10 01 JB code cilt.233.10ko 171 191 21 Article 10 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">The laryngeal effect in Korean</TitleText> <TitlePrefix>The </TitlePrefix> <TitleWithoutPrefix textformat="02">laryngeal effect in Korean</TitleWithoutPrefix> <Subtitle textformat="02">Phonology or phonetics?</Subtitle> 1 A01 Eon-Suk Ko Ko, Eon-Suk Eon-Suk Ko 10 01 JB code cilt.233.11tim 193 1 Section header 11 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Time, tone and other things</TitleText> 10 01 JB code cilt.233.12hil 195 222 28 Article 12 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">The diphthong dynamics distinction in Swabian</TitleText> <TitlePrefix>The </TitlePrefix> <TitleWithoutPrefix textformat="02">diphthong dynamics distinction in Swabian</TitleWithoutPrefix> <Subtitle textformat="02">How much timing is there in phonology?</Subtitle> 1 A01 Markus Hiller Hiller, Markus Markus Hiller 10 01 JB code cilt.233.13str 223 239 17 Article 13 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Depression in Zulu</TitleText> <Subtitle textformat="02">Tonal effects of segmental features</Subtitle> 1 A01 Philipp Strazny Strazny, Philipp Philipp Strazny 10 01 JB code cilt.233.14vij 241 255 15 Article 14 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Weakening processes in the Optimality Framework</TitleText> 1 A01 K.G.
