It demonstrates ways in which grammar engineering implementations can provide insights into how complex linguistic processes interact. 03 00 The book presents a new perspective on clausal syntax and its interactions with lexical and discourse function information by analysing Hungarian sentences. It also demonstrates ways in which grammar engineering implementations can provide insights into how complex linguistic processes interact. It analyses the most important phenomena in the preverbal domain of Hungarian finite declarative and wh-clauses: sentence structure, operators, verbal modifiers, negation and copula constructions. Based on the results of earlier generative linguistic research, it presents the fundamental empirical generalisations and offers a comparative critical assessment of the most salient analyses in a variety of generative linguistic models from its own perspective. It argues for a lexical approach to the relevant phenomena and develops the first comprehensive analysis in the theoretical framework of Lexical-Functional Grammar. It also reports the successful implementation of crucial aspects of this analysis in the computational linguistic platform of the theory, Xerox Linguistic Environment. 01 00 03 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/475/cilt.354.png 01 01 D502 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_jpg/9789027210470.jpg 01 01 D504 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_tif/9789027210470.tif 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_front/cilt.354.hb.png 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/125/cilt.354.png 02 00 03 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_back/cilt.354.hb.png 03 00 03 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/3d_web/cilt.354.hb.png 01 01 JB code cilt.354.pre 06 10.1075/cilt.354.pre vii viii 2 Miscellaneous 1 01 04 Preface Preface 01 eng 01 01 JB code cilt.354.loa 06 10.1075/cilt.354.loa ix xiv 6 Miscellaneous 2 01 04 List of abbreviations List of abbreviations 01 eng 01 01 JB code cilt.354.c1 06 10.1075/cilt.354.c1 1 42 42 Chapter 3 01 04 Chapter 1.
