It explores in what way economics can contribute to the analysis of discursive practices in various institutional settings as well as investigating what role discourse studies can play in economic research. The contributors are linguists, communication scholars, economists and other social scientists drawing on various traditions including Critical Discourse Analysis, Cognitive Linguistics, ethnography and the literature on the rhetoric of economics and on economic storytelling. All articles are essentially empirical, focusing on the details of actual language use. The type of data analysed ranges from the minutes of university policy meetings and large-scale corpora of newspaper language, over books of economic theory from both well-respected economists and monetary cranks, to cartoons from The Economist. 01 00 03 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/475/dapsac.16.png 01 01 D502 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_jpg/9789027227065.jpg 01 01 D504 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_tif/9789027227065.tif 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_front/dapsac.16.hb.png 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/125/dapsac.16.png 02 00 03 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_back/dapsac.16.hb.png 03 00 03 01 01 D503 https://benjamins.com/covers/3d_web/dapsac.16.hb.png 01 01 JB code dapsac.16.01pre 06 10.1075/dapsac.16.01pre vii vii 1 Miscellaneous 1 01 04 Preface Preface 01 01 JB code dapsac.16.02err 06 10.1075/dapsac.16.02err 1 5 5 Article 2 01 04 Introduction Introduction 1 A01 01 JB code 480055548 Guido Erreygers Erreygers, Guido Guido Erreygers 2 A01 01 JB code 972055549 Geert Jacobs Jacobs, Geert Geert Jacobs 01 01 JB code dapsac.16.03icr 06 10.1075/dapsac.16.03icr Section header 3 01 04 I.
