The papers are all informed by the belief that a thorough exposure to the expression of aspect crosslinguistically is crucial for progress in understanding how the semantics of aspect works and what the semantic basis of aspectual distinctions is. The languages discussed include Russian, English, Dutch, Hebrew, Mandarin, Japanese and Kalaallisut. The issues discussed in this volume include the centrality of measuring and counting in an understanding of telicity; the importance of the singular/plural distinction in the study of aspect; the importance of homogeneity as a property of event types; the flexibility of lexical classes; and the interaction between expressions of aspect and the particular morphosyntactic structure of a language. 04 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475/la.110.png 04 03 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_jpg/9789027233745.jpg 04 03 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_tif/9789027233745.tif 06 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_front/la.110.hb.png 07 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/125/la.110.png 25 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_back/la.110.hb.png 27 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/3d_web/la.110.hb.png 10 01 JB code la.110.01rot 1 10 10 Miscellaneous 1 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Introduction</TitleText> 1 A01 Susan Rothstein Rothstein, Susan Susan Rothstein Bar-Ilan University 10 01 JB code la.110.02par Section header 2 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Part I.
