The book is positioned at the interface between applied linguistic analysis and the activity of coaching, coupled with its structuring professional theory. It presents the Basic Activity Model of coaching, a model for the qualitative analysis and description of the discursive co-construction of coaching by coach and client within and across individual coaching sessions and whole processes. The analysis is based on 150 hours of authentic data from the coaching approach <i>Emotionally Intelligent Coaching</i> and presents coaching as hybrid and interdiscursive helping professional format. The gained insights into the discursive layout of coaching interactions advance our linguistic understanding of helping professions as such, contribute to the theoretical and methodological underpinning of coaching and help promote the coaching practice. 04 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475/pbns.303.png 04 03 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_jpg/9789027202451.jpg 04 03 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/475_tif/9789027202451.tif 06 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_front/pbns.303.hb.png 07 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/125/pbns.303.png 25 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/1200_back/pbns.303.hb.png 27 09 01 https://benjamins.com/covers/3d_web/pbns.303.hb.png 10 01 JB code pbns.303.ack ix x 2 Miscellaneous 1 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Acknowledgements</TitleText> 10 01 JB code pbns.303.abbr xi xii 2 Miscellaneous 2 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Transcription conventions</TitleText> 10 01 JB code pbns.303.c1 1 12 12 Chapter 3 <TitleType>01</TitleType> <TitleText textformat="02">Chapter&#160;1.
