W. and S. suggest that the behavior of presuppositions under negation and questioning can be accounted for by assuming a truth functional semantics without truth value gaps, if we allow semantic interpretation to be sensitive to relevance, and assume that relevance is marked syntactically and phonologically. Presupposed information is that which is marked as less relevant.
