An attempt at interpreting sections 1-184 of Wittgenstein's 'Philosophical Investigations'. This includes an analysis of the Augustinian picture of language (with the concepts of language game, and the uses of sentences), of ostensive definition, of the determinacy of sense, of the concept of propositional form, and of the notions 'meaning' and 'understanding'.
