Annotation

An attempt at bringing biology and linguistics together. Contains discussions of what linguistic data, in particular lexical classes, can tell us; what relationships exist between language and the brain (with a focus on these lexical classes and 'meaning space'); the evolution of linguistic communication from biological preconditions, on the basis of the theories of 'blastematics' and 'prorhematics'; and some philosophical and methodological issues in biolinguistics.
