Annotation
An analysis of narrative competence acquisition, concentrating on the influence of the interactional factor in the process of narrative text construction by children between 3 and 5 years of age. Story telling is regarded as interactionally produced in the setting of natural conversation, and is based on joint negotiation of narrator and listener. The basic question asked is how young children's abilities to adjust to perceived listener's knowledge are realized in the narrative situation with an adult.
