Annotation
C. addresses the issue of the functional content and behavior of speech acts, how they present the propositional content of a speech act to the hearer. This allows greater consideration of the role of the interlocutor in the construction of speech acts, by concentrating on how the speaker's consideration or appraisal of the interlocutor and the speaker/addressee relationship influence the construction and expression of speech acts.
