E. discusses the changes Arabic is undergoing as a result of language planning policies in Morocco. The policy of Arabization has led to the modernization of Classical Arabic, while the introduction of French has influenced Classical as well as Moroccan Arabic, especially in the field of the lexicon, and has led to a practice of code-mixing.
