On pragmatic structures and their acquisition, with special reference to propositions (and reference), performatives, presuppositions, and conversational postulates. Pragmatics is briefly compared with the domain of sociolinguistics, and pragmatic and sociolinguistic aspects of language deficiency are pointed out.
