Annotation

On the basis of recent investigations of speech act patterns, discourse structure lexical semantics, case roles and sentence processing strategies, the old question is addressed of where grammar comes from. How do children come to understand and use the surface formalisms of a particular language? And what pragmatic, semantic and cognitive-perceptual factors play a role?
