Annotation

Indirect communication methods are shown to be an integral part of political discourse. Focusing on Ghanaian politics, four types of indirectness are listed: metaphors, evasion, circumlocution and innuendoes. A prevalence of indirectness is noted in developing nations as compared to Western countries.
