Annotation

This paper reports on the actions taken in Kabylia (Algeria) to preserve Berber against competing languages: sociohistorical and ideological aspects, as well as linguistic aims of this militant and academic movement are discussed. It is noted that this quest for linguistic autonomy goes hand in hand with a quest for political and cultural autonomy.
