The relationship between language preservation and Slovene ethnic awareness in Cleveland (Ohio) is examined. Generational differences in code-switching behavior and ethnic organization involvement are observed, leading the author to conclude that Slovene language preservation is encouraged by Slovene proficiency and positive language attitudes.
