Annotation

In this study of emerging conversational routines, the researchers found that (1) children reformulate both requests and assertions, (2) formally, the reformulations depend on the adult's behavior for requests and assertions and (3) requests and assertions tend to vary in terms of gestural and linguistic behavior depending on the conversation partner.
