B. argues that a total system of address forms reflects the variables (including hierarchy, social distance, role distance, etc.) relevant to relating individuals to each other in a particular society and that address choice establishes the combination of these features relevant to a particular instance of social interaction. From this point of view an address system of Kannada is investigated.
