Annotation

This paper deals with the acceptance of Standard Swahili terms by speakers of primary Swahili dialects and with the new linguistic variation dynamics thus generated. The focus is on the interplay of some Standard Swahili and Kimvita tense-aspect markers: -na- and -me-; -sha-,-nsha- and -mesha-; and -ja- and -ku-.
