Annotation
A study on English, French and French learner requesting behavior in an informal experimental conversational context, to determine which English and French forms are politeness equivalents and to what degree French learners employ forms used by French speakers. Besides some theoretical conclusions and suggested implications for the teaching of French, this study adds to the research into sociopragmatic choices available to speakers of language.
