Annotation
This book outlines an alternative theory of grammar, in which word order is the primary principle, lexical valency and recursive sentential expansion secondary. It illustrates that both the Chomskyan and Praguean paradigms cannot account for word order distinctions due to the overestimation of either the surface word order (the Chomskyan paradigm) or the deep word order (the Praguean approach).
