Annotation

The author proposes to examine trouble-causing factors in academic communication under the two separate titles 'textuality' (discourse, register) and 'intertextuality' (genre, ideology). Interference within normal 'tuning-in' systems can be caused e.g. by writers' 'non-nativeness' and their 'membership' in particular scientific paradigms. These factors are likely to influence the way their research is recorded and evaluated in its written form.
