Annotation
This paper presents a discussion on norms, norm-variation and (un)intentional norm-breaking in academic discourse. Three explanatory factors of norm-breaking are briefly discussed, i.e. the situational context, the author status and the subjective presence of the author. As the norm-breaks appear to apply especially to cooperation and competition, it is tempting to consider them as norm-development.
