Annotation

The general acknowledgment of the role discourse plays in the production of knowledge and in the exercise of power has certainly also reinforced the view of discourse as a social practice. And from that assumption, it follows, as Foucault has emphasized, that discourse is socially valued, and, as a consequence, its production, its reception and circulation, are governed by social rules and constraints. A discursive order emerges, resulting from ‘interventional’ and appropriation moves, and the limitations of access to discourse, which are frequent and socially established. This paper studies the three main areas of control in the discursive universe, which are accomplished through different discursive procedures. As a result, discourses do not emerge and do not flow freely in society; their production and reception is hindered or helped, and the value assigned to them is weighted
