This book develops an integrated dynamic model of negation in discourse within the more general framework of linguistic stylistics. This volume fills a gap in studies of negation by providing an up-to-date critical review of the topic and by proposing a text world model of negation which is applied to the interpretation of the role of negation in the novel Catch-22.
