Observing that the distribution of Mandarin Chinese right-dislocation found in activity oriented face-to-face interaction is unaccounted for, this study hypothesizes that, following the grammaticalization of afterthought repair as a function of information management, Mandarin right-dislocation is characterized by an emphatic function combined with negative evaluation, labeled as the intensifying function.
