Annotation

Evidence is given for the interference-attenuating role of suppression during lexical access, anaphoric and cataphoric reference, syntactic parsing, and individual differences in (adult) language comprehension skill. Moreover, the role of the cognitive process of suppression is demonstrated in the understanding of figurative language (i.c. metaphors, idioms, and proverbs).
