Annotation

In a series of experiments testing the influence of shared common ground and tag questions on the perception of irony, it was found that common ground was a factor in the appropriateness of ironic statements. Furthermore, ironic statements weren't better remembered than their literal equivalents, but both common ground and tag manipulations were found to exert an influence on statement type.
