This article outlines the function and use of the German quotative UND ICH SO, with a focus on the unquote quotation format - the use of suprasegmental features or other turn-exit devices signaling the end of the reported speech. Furthermore, grammatical and interactional similarities with the American English quotative BE LIKE are discussed.
