Annotation

Based on a scheme of four primary speech moves (Informs, Questions, Requests, and Undertakings) and a fifth secondary one (Acknowledgements), an interrogation scene in a play by Harold Pinter is analyzed. It is argued that the scheme allows for detailed analysis of the interaction, is easy to use and has general analytical validity.
