Annotation
It is shown that in decision making interactions, discourse OK patterns at the boundaries of decision routines. Moreover, the research findings suggest that the relationship of discourse OK to expected events is in contrast with the occurrence of WELL at unexpected transitions. It is concluded that discourse OK is part of a default organization of verbal behavior separating unmarked, routine sequences and marked, nonroutine departures from expected events.
