Annotation

This study traces the influence pragmatic constraints have on the acquisition of reflexive binding in English by adult Turkish L2 learners. The research findings suggest that pragmatically biased sentences cause the subjects to take pragmatic information into consideration over their syntactic knowledge, leading the author to conclude that, when Turkish L1 and L2 speakers have to decide on an antecedent, the I-principle is decisive.
