Annotation

A case is made for the relevance of knowledge of the institutional context for the analyst in the study of institutional interaction. From a methodological point of view, it is argued that the procedural relevancy of context does away with arbitrariness. The analyst's use of procedural consequentiality as an analytical criterion correlates with his/her knowledge of the context at hand.
