Annotation

Following a discussion of the communicative, political, religious, and literary aspects prefiguring the revival of Hebrew, four phases in the Hebrew language revival are outlined: (1) instilling language attitudes; (2) L2-acquisition; (3) L2-transfer; (4) L1-acquisition. It is noted that the revival is an instance of micro language planning, complete with planning agents and cells.
