In this study of codeswitching in verbs of opinion/belief in French-English bilingual discourse, it is found that codeswitching highlights the speaker's stance with regard to the propositional truth (as well as expressing a sense of uncertainty in English codeswitches). It is argued that variation in usage is a matter of language contact intensity.
