This study documents the process of koineization in the English New Town of Milton Keynes. Research findings reveal substantial focusing among Milton Keynes children, and a lack of linguistic continuity among other generations. Following an outline of the time scale of the koineization process, it is concluded that that demographic and social-network characteristics of individuals strongly influence the result of koineization.
