Annotation

A set of rules, or pragmatic strategies, described by Harvey Sacks, which enable speakers and hearers to produce and recognize possible descriptions in conversation, is applied by the authors to the problem of how readers recognize and assign coherence to descriptions, i.e. narratives in literature.
