Annotation
Complementing an empirical study of Mesoamerican color catergories as well as Berlin and Kay's color survey, the author develops a dynamic theory of color ethnography which he calls vantage theory. In its essence, the theory holds that speakers employ more than one color categorization perspective, which yields focus shifts and, in turn, re-categorization.
