Introducing corpus analysis, this book focuses on computer-aided methods for studying patterns of words distribution in large corpora, thereby considering two theoretical questions about discourse and society: how do the elements of a text get a meaning as part of the whole and what is the relationship between particular texts and the larger social patterns they comprise ?
