Annotation
This book investigates Britain's Panjabi, Anglo and African Carribean adolescents' use of "crossing" in both peer-peer and adolescent-adult interactions. This form of code-switching using the language of another ethnic group is considered to contribute to a feeling of community that bridges ethnic divisions and diminishes domination patterns.
