Annotation
Irish-speaking communities declined almost to the point of extinction during the 19th century. In 1922 though, the new Irish state started a wide language policy to re-establish Irish as a national language. Its impact over the last seventy years is analyzed, with special focus on the evolving structure of bilingualism and the process of bilingual reproduction.
