Annotation

The papers in this volume promote Langacker's notion of construal, i.e. the relationship between a speaker/hearer and a situation that he conceptualizes and portrays as an important parameter of linguistic meaning. Three interrelated theories are discussed as models of world construal through language: the reference point model; the metaphors and related constructs model and the vantage point model.
