Annotation

Arguing from a psycholinguistic perspective that there is a difference between our receptivity to, and understanding of metaphor in literature compared to ordinary language, the author e.g. asserts that people are quite capable of understanding and 'translating' figurative language without ever identifying it as metaphoric.
