Besides data analysis of spontaneous successful and unsuccessful intercultural communication, both crises and small-talk, in four Melbourne industrial sites, focusing on speech acts and turn-taking, this volume provides information on written (academic) discourse across cultures, drawing together the literatures of pragmatics, discourse analysis and cultural difference to integrate and develop a broad linguistic framework.
