Examining anaphora in a broad sense, operating within a joint syntactic and pragmatic perspective comprising especially the government-binding (GB)/principles-and-parameters theory (P&P) and neo-Gricean pragmatics à la Levinson, this book focuses on the interpretation of empty pronominal categories like pro and pro and the null variable and on the interpretation of ordinary, reflexive and reciprocal pronouns.
