The authors aim to develop a theoretical and conceptual framework for defining Black communication by explicating the cosmology of traditional Africa and demonstrating its continuity in both sacred and secular Black life. Their research focusses on the Traditional Black Church, which has played a long-standing historical role in sustaining the culture and communication process of African-Americans.
