Annotation

G. first discusses Fodor's sententionalist approach of intentional ascription and argues that it is inappropriate to understand cases of incomprehensible linguistic behavior, such as occurs in cases of autism. She then looks at the active role ascriptions play in interaction and suggests that the failure to ascribe content to autistic utterances is echoed by the intentional attribution failure on the side of the autistic child. Finally, a theoretical background for the study of intentional ascription ability in autistic children is outlined.
