Annotation

The author investigates the acquisition of linguistic means for person reference, both at the word level (pronoun usage) and at the discourse level (topic maintenance, shift, etc.), by second-language learners of Dutch with Turkish and Moroccan-Arabic on the mother tongue. This longitudinal study of language development over time focusses on untutored second-language acquisition among adult immigrants.
