Analysis of the intersubjective aspects and the dynamics of scientific controversies. The question asked is: to what extent do the scientific issues at stake determine the forms of the dialogue and influence the tenor of the interventions? The scientific controversies which are examined are taken from the 18th-century genetics, 19th- century zoology, and 19th-century medicine.
